STEP ONE: Expression of Interest

We encourage anyone who is interested in the program to register their interest using the EOI form. You can register your EOI at any time here.

STEP TWO: Application Round

Applications for Round 7 2026 will open early February 2026.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) with all elements in place are able to proceed to applications once a round is open.

1. A University

2. An Industry Partner

3. An Industry focused research project suitable for a PhD candidate*

If you are missing any of these elements, go to ‘Find a Partner’ for more information on how we may be able to assist you find that missing piece.

It is intended that the University and Industry Partner work closely together to develop their application. When an application is ready to be submitted, this MUST be done through the Graduate Research Liaison Office of the University (GRLO).  If you are unsure of a participating university’s GRLO please contact Campus Plus at industryphd@campusplus.com.au to be put in contact with them.

All applications must include a Letter of Intent from the Industry Partner:

*a PhD candidate does not necessarily have to have been identified before an application can be submitted. A suitable candidate can be recruited after a project has been awarded funding.

If an application round is not currently open, join the Mailing List and we’ll let you know as soon as a Round opens.

Participating universities are responsible for submitting applications on behalf of researchers, industry partners, PhD candidates and industry employees. If you are unsure of a participating university’s main point of contact, please contact Campus Plus at industryphd@campusplus.com.au
