Synergistic Mechanisms of Nd:YAG and Er:YAG Lasers in Non-Ablative Skin Treatments
Campus Plus are excited to announce a recent award launch under the National Industry PhD Program.
This partnership brings together the world-class aesthetic laser technology and clinical validation capabilities of The Skin Institute & Academy and the biomedical photonics and AI-driven optimization expertise of QUT (Queensland University of Technology) to explore next generation non-ablative laser skin treatments through integrated experimental and computational approaches.
The project, “Synergistic Mechanisms of Lasers in Non-Ablative Skin Treatments: Integration of Experimental and Computational Approaches”, will investigate dual-wavelength photothermal dynamics, optimise treatment protocols using AI-driven models, and deliver clinical translation guidelines. The goal is to advance safer, high-precision, minimally invasive skin therapies and strengthen Australia’s leadership in medical AI and advanced manufacturing.
The research will be conducted by PhD candidate Mr Leo Chen with academic support from Prof Zhiyong Li from QUT, and the industry mentorship of Dr Isabella Zhao from The Skin Institute & Academy. Thanks Congratulations to all involved!
