Personalised Risk Management for Australian Travellers utilising Causal and Generative AI Models

Campus Plus (Sabine Straver) are thrilled to announce the collaboration with UNSW and Cover-More on an industry-focused PhD project aimed at addressing key challenges in the Insurance sector. This collaborative effort brings together academic expertise and industry insights to drive innovation and deliver real-world impact.

The project, titled " Making Insurance Affordable: Risk Prevention through AI and Real-world Tests" focuses on helping Australian travellers access more personalized services and affordable travel insurance.

In this collaboration, Associate Professor Fei Huang from School of Risk and Actuarial Studies at UNSW Business School and Assistant Professor Yuting Zhu from the National University Singapore provide expertise in responsible insurance, machine learning, field experiment, and customer relationship management.  Leveraging the UNSW renowned expertise in Risk and Actuarial Research and Cover-More's industry leadership in travel insurance industry, this project epitomises a collaborative approach that bridges the gap between academia and industry.

This research provides a novel risk management framework for the insurance industry as well as cuts down burdens on public systems. Australian travellers will be equipped with knowledge to protect themselves and have access to more affordable insurance solutions.
