Managing the Promise and Peril of AI-Enabled Human Cognition in Transformational Change

Campus Plus is delighted to announce a forward‑looking National Industry PhD Program project tackling one of the most urgent questions facing organisations today: how to lead transformational change in an era of AI‑enabled decision making.

This partnership brings together the social impact innovation and transformation leadership capabilities of SERO4 Limited and the organisational transformation and strategic management expertise within the JCU College of Business, Law & Governance and the Centre for AI and Data Science Innovation (CADSI) of James Cook University to explore how AI‑augmented human cognition is reshaping leadership, trust, and the capabilities required to drive enterprise‑wide transformation.

The project, “Managing the Promise and Peril of AI‑Enabled Human Cognition in Transformational Change”, will investigate real‑world cases of AI‑enabled transformation, conduct multi‑level organisational surveys, co‑design practical tools with industry, and pilot evidence‑based frameworks in Australia and Singapore. The goal is to help leaders harness AI’s power while safeguarding employee trust, strengthening organisational capability, and enabling scalable, ethical, and high‑impact transformational change.

The research will be conducted by PhD candidate Matthew Champion, FCPA with industry mentorship of Amy Compton-Keen from SERO4 Limited (pictured together) with academic support from Professors Siggi Gudergan (pictured with green background) and Peter S. Hofman (pictured with black background) from James Cook University. Congratulations to all involved!
