Campus Plus is pleased to announce the official launch of an Industry Researcher Award in South Australia.
How can we support health decision makers understand the economic, social and environmental impact of virtual health?
Healthdirect Australia is committed to supporting the health sector transition to a more sustainable low carbon care model, by developing broader value metrics of Virtual health that support decision makers transition appropriate clinical care to virtual delivery models.
Rachel De Sain, Director of Sustainability Measurement and Impact is a pioneering thought leader in the nexus of technology, health and climate change, delivering applied research outputs including the recent Healthdirect virtual health emission measurement framework (Healthdirect-Australia Virtual Health Emissions Report) and prior work for the Australian government measuring the health and aged care sector greenhouse gas emissions (Estimates of Australian health system greenhouse gas emissions 2021–22).
Healthdirect is proud to be partnering with Flinders UniversityFlinders Caring Futures Institute to undertake this project to develop a triple bottom line framework for comprehensive understanding of the economic, social, and environmental costs and benefits of Virtual Health.
This research supported by the Australian Government Department of Education, builds upon Healthdirect’s strong foundation of demonstrating measurable value to the Australian health system. The project aims to enable more sustainable and resilient investment decisions as the sector actions strategies that both adapt to a changing climate, while also mitigating its own sustainability footprint.
